Ukeme Esiet

Ukeme was born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria. His parents are both youth development practitioners and run a leading NGO that addresses the health and social issues faced by Nigerian adolescents.

As an undergraduate at Assumption College, Ukeme was involved with the African, Latino, Asian, and Native American (ALANA) Network and its mission of creating a community that embraces and celebrates the diverse backgrounds of its students. He was fortunate to have worked with the Office of Multicultural Affairs, and is thankful for the opportunity it gave him to mature as a student leader and to represent his class as salutatorian.

Ukeme is learning more about sustainability issues and supporting the goals of the Advancing Green Building in Higher Education Initiative by helping to connect under-resourced minority-serving institutions with the resources and knowledge to build green on their campuses, thereby helping higher education institutions create a sustainable future.
