Andrea Putman, Director of Corporate Partnerships
Andrea Putman is Second Nature’s Director of Corporate Partnerships for the American College and University Presidents Climate Commitment (ACUPCC). Previously, she was Director of Sustainability Financing for Second Nature, where she co-managed the partnership between the Clinton Climate Initiative and the ACUPCC. She serves on the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education Advisory Committee. Ms. Putman is the co-author of Boldly Sustainable: Hope and Opportunity for Higher Education in the Age of Climate Change published by NACUBO and The Business Case for Renewable Energy: A Guide for Colleges and Universities published by NACUBO, APPA, and The Society for College and University Planning.
Prior to joining Second Nature, Ms. Putman was an Associate with the Cadmus Group where she supported the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Energy Star program and the Southeast Rebuild Collaborative for higher education. She was President of Green Innovations, a woman-owned small business that provided communications, marketing, and analysis for renewable energy initiatives. She helped establish and develop the Higher Education Committee for the American Council on Renewable Energy; sold wind power for Community Energy, and developed a wind power marketing program for Washington Gas Energy Services.
As Senior Associate with ICF Consulting working in support of Energy Star, Ms. Putman recruited financial partners representing 95 million square feet of corporate real estate and provided support to develop their energy programs. Ms. Putman was an Energy Analyst for Pepco Energy Services and Director of Marketing for Energy Efficiency Services.
Ms. Putman earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from State University of New York at Binghamton and did graduate work in Environmental Education at New York University. She was a certified Energy Manager and is a LEED Accredited Professional.
